Worship is the ground of our being
as a community and of our work in the world. We offer a variety
of services, because members of our congregation come from different
traditions and geographical areas. We try to assure that services
are always dignified and meaningful, because we want them to reflect
the best and most enduring elements of Anglican worship.
We are aware that our church may be the only contact
some people have with the Anglican tradition, and we consider that
a responsibility and a challenge.
We say the morning office every weekday
and also celebrate the Eucharist most weekdays. We have two celebrations
of the Eucharist on Sunday mornings, and have sung Evensong on the
first Sunday of the month. During most of the year we have a quiet
organ concert, called Organ Vespers on the first Saturday or Sunday
of the month. If you would like to see this year's programme, go
to the Music page. In addition to these regular services, we
have many occasions for worship during the year. Twice during the
year we hold our main mid-morning Sunday Eucharist together with
the American Episcopal Church of St Paul's within the Walls, we
participate in many forms of worship with our ecumenical friends
during the week of prayer for Christian unity, and take part in
ecumenical celebrations at the beginning of Advent and at Pentecost.
If you would like to know more about our services you can go to
Worshipping Together. Please
remember that you should always check with the office, the answer
phone, or the notice board outside the church about particular services
you are interested in, since there may be variations.
