Footsteps
Group
Footsteps is an ecumenical, family, house church which meets in
the suburbs of Rome, close to some of the major international
schools where there is a significant number of expatriates coming
and going. Initiated nearly three years ago, Father Jonathan of
All Saints church was present at our first planning meeting and
continues to provide spiritual support for us, along with the
Pastor of Rome Baptist church.
Infernetto
The original group, "Footsteps South",
meets in the Casalpalocco / Infernetto area. We join together
fortnightly on Sundays for family worship: there are separate
activities for younger children, teenagers and adults, all based
upon the same theme, followed by time to share what we have learnt
at the end of the service. Weekly, day-time and evening bible
study groups also meet, looking at specific books of the bible
and discovering their relevance to us as Christians at the beginning
of the 21st century.
Footsteps
North
"Footsteps North" meets in the La Storta / Olgiata area
and has been up and running for almost a year now, offering Sunday
worship every three weeks for all ages. A day-time bible study
has also been meeting to discuss the basics of Christianity and
there have been a series of Quiet Mornings, offering "time
out" of our busy lives to contemplate a particular passage
in the bible.
Both groups provide pastoral care within their own
communities, supporting each other and those outside the groups
in times of difficulty. We exist to bring people from all corners
of the globe together to know and worship Jesus and make Him known
to others in the English speaking community. With this role in
mind, one of us started a weekly "Quiet Moment" at FAO,
seeking to draw people closer to God in their workplace. Furthermore,
with the invaluable support of All Saints and Rome Baptist churches,
we have just finished running our second Alpha course.
