In 1980, Legislation came into effect to dissolve the title "Fulham", borne by the Bishop of London's Suffragan charged with looking after North and Central Europe since 1883 - a charge held by Bishop Satterthwaite from 1970 jointly with that of Gibraltar. Our Diocese has become the 30th in the province of Canterbury, and the first addition to it since 1927.
